DIY Space Mouse for CAD software

Hi folks,

recently I came across the ORBION - The OpenSource 3D Space Mouse:

I instantly wanted to build one and ordered the components for it (luckily there is a good “BOM” list with AliExpress links to all parts). Yesterday the new version 2.5 was released and now I need to re-order some switches and bearings to not miss out the upgrade :sweat_smile:

Has anyone of you built an ORBION? Or a different DIY space mouse model? Here are some alternative models I found:

Last but not least the luxury Ahmsville Dial V2 „Series“ (there are different variants), which looks really amazing, but challenging to build:

I’ve seen that too, and I plan to build one. But I will give it a bit of time until the design and BOM is finished.
