Using exclude_object and touch screen together on Ender 6

  • 3D Printer Model: Ender 6

  • Slicer: Cura

  • Hardware Setup: Pi z W, klipper, Dragon hotend

  • Problem description:
    The klipper firmware you supplied is great thank you, and the touch screen works 100%. It seems that the [exclude_object] is not yet supported though? I do a lot of small items, and many on one plate. Would be great if we could include [exclude_object] please…

  • What I tried:
    I did exactly as the klipper instructions indicate:

  1. enabled exclude objects in firmware
  2. enabled the moonraker trigger to “True”
  3. Added the [exclude_object] in the printer.cfg section

The klipper firmware immediately complains about the printer.cfg file…

Desuuuu’s build might be outdated.
If you don’t want to use the screen, you can update to the latest version and the exclude object should be available. But the screen might not work anymore.
Haven’t tried updating on my machine.

It might be a little more complicated, but I ended up replacing my stock screen with a 5’’ touch screen running off of my pi. The exclude object is there, and you have all of the benefits of KlipperScreen.
